Gendergarten, Series
Drawing inspiration from his friends and neighbors and the rapidly changing landscape of West Hollywood in the early 2010s, Clay produced the 15 paper cuts below over a span of 3 years (2010-2013) eventually leading to the publication of Gendergarten. This series, and eventual book, explored the transformation of our society as it adjusted to an increasing number of gay couples raising straight kids, and straight couples raising gay kids. Additionally the works offer humorous snapshots of the confrontation and social juxtaposition of sexy hipsters and gay nightlife melding with the influx of parents, strollers, and playgrounds.
